Rabbitt in Paradise
Your source for rabbit art, jewelry with lovely rabbits,
hand painted porcelain and glass ware with rabbits hiding in the design and C.J. Rabbitt's books about Blackberry Rabbitt and Desiree De Rabbitt.
Please call before coming to the studio from May 25 through June 8, we will mostly be out of the
studio during this time.
We would like to ask that you not buy a live animal unless you have done your research and are willing and able to commit for the life of the animal, With proper care, rabbits can live up to fifteen years, they must have a vet that is familiar with their physiology.
One reason that rabbits were thought to have such short life spans (2-4 years) was that well meaning vets would kill them by treating them the same as they would treat a cat or dog.
An animal is not a toy, it is a small life that is completely dependent upon YOU.
A rabbit is a social animal that needs at least as much attention and care as a cat or a dog.
They are also not good pets for households with small children, they have fragile bones and are easily damaged by a loving hug from a small child that does not understand that they need to be handled gently. Most rabbits also do not like to be picked up and can harm themselves or you when they are trying to get back down. There are rabbits that like to cuddle, but they usually have to trust you first before they are comfortable allowing that much familiarity.
We would like to suggest that instead of a live animal, that you get a stuffed toy, or some rabbit jewelry, or one of our beautiful painted or carved rabbits.
